Recipe Share: Black Bean Hummus

Black bean hummus is lower in fat and calories than regular hummus because it does not contain olive oil.  Although the oil is wonderfully healthy for you, it plumps up the calories fast so this creamy, slightly spicy variety is good for days when you want to eat a bit more.

Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 1 big clove of garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 1 15-ounce can of black beans, drained with 2 tbsp. bean juice reserved
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons tahini
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.
